Thank You for Being a Hero!

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Ohio want to highlight and recognize the local heroes who are helping during this crisis. Despite the health risk involved, essential services are continuing to be provided by our local heroes (public safety, public sector, healthcare, etc.).

These are the times that we pull together as a community and find ways to support each other and our local heroes. 

We are requesting your help in supporting our local heroes by participating in the “Thank you for Being a Hero” letter-writing contest.

Bigs and Littles are also encouraged to invite their family and friends to participate. Winners will receive an Amazon gift card (different values) and their letters will be posted on the website for the remainder of the crisis. Copies of all entries will be shared with our local heroes.

Guidelines

• Submissions will be accepted starting at noon, Monday, April 13, 2020.
• 500 words or less, copy the letter and paste in the box (marked local hero).
• The topic must focus on “our local heroes” and be original.
• All entries are due by noon, Friday, may 15, 2020.

Group Categories

• 6 – 14 years (1st place = $30, 2nd place = $20, and 3rd place = $10)
• 15 – 19 years (1st place = $40, 2nd place = $30, and 3rd place = $20)
• 20 years+ (1st place = $50, 2nd place = $40, and 3rd place = $30)
