The "Heroes' Welcome" took place at the at the
2007 Mentor Awards on September 18, 2007.

“Big Brother” Reginald Truss and
“Little Brother” Redus Thomas
were matched sixteen years ago when
young Redus was eight years old
growing up in Toledo, Ohio.

Both have served simultaneous
Tours of Duty in the U.S. Army
and have returned safely.

VIP reception was hosted to honor
U.S. Army Major Reginald Truss,
U. S. Army Sergeant Redus Thomas,
and Mr. Derek Myers
for stepping forward to participate in
a phenomenal mentoring relationship.

Remarks by Danielle Dressel emphasized the
difference mentoring makes through
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwestern Ohio.
