In addition, numerous studies have demonstrated that the one-to-one mentoring matches created by Big Brothers Big Sisters significantly reduces the likelihood that a child will abuse alcohol or illegal drugs, resort to violence, or skip school. And, Little Brothers and Little Sisters in the study increased their confidence in school performance and got along better with their families.
